TEMPORARY RESDENCE

A temporary resident is a foreign national who is legally authorized to enter Canada for temporary purposes. A foreign national has temporary resident status when they have been found to meet the requirements of the legislation to enter and/or remain in Canada as a visitor, student, worker or temporary resident permit holder. Only foreign nationals physically in Canada hold temporary resident status.

VISITOR VISA

Canada allows visitors to enter the country for tourism as well as to meet family etc. To be eligible to obtain a visitor visa, the following requirements must be fulfilled

  • Have a valid travel document like a passport.
  • Be in good health.
  • Have no criminal record.
  • Prove that you have ties with your home country.
  • Convince an immigration officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your visit
  • Have enough money for your stay.

STUDY PERMIT

Canada is home to several prestigious institutions offering a high standard of education. To be eligible to study at these institutions, foreign students are required to have a study permit. To qualify for a study permit the following requirements must be met:

  •  Obtain a Letter of Acceptance from a Designated Learning Institution within Canada.
  •  Provide proof of financial means.
  •  Provide a Criminal/ Police Clearance.
  •  Be in good health.
  •  Provide proof of ties to your home country and convince an officer that you will leave at the end of your stay.

WORK PERMIT

There are multiple methods of applying for a work permit in Canada. After a consultation we can assist you in choosing which method is most suitable for you. Foreign Workers may legally work in Canada by obtaining one of the following types of work permit.

Post-Graduate Work Permit

An applicant is eligible to apply for a post graduate work permit if they have graduated from an eligible Canadian Designated learning Institution.

If your spouse possesses a work permit or study permit, and is approved to work or study in Canada for a duration of 6 months or longer, than you are eligible to apply for a work permit.

RESORATION OF TEMPORARY RESIDENT STATUS

The restoration of temporary resident status allows individuals who have lost their legal status in Canada to apply to have it restored or reinstated. To be eligible to apply for this an applicant should be in compliance of the following:

  • Apply within 90 days of having lost their status.
  • Meet the initial requirements for their stay.
  • Have not failed to comply with any other condition.
  • Meet the requirements of the class under which they are currently applying to be restored as a temporary resident.
